Sometimes, it’s hard to do things. Sometimes it’s hard to stop doing things. Most times, a little expert help and unjudgmental support can cut through a cluttered mind to identify the issue – and make all the difference.
Julie Widdowson Hypnotherapy can help, and has helped in many, many cases. Some of those are very serious cases yet clients have seen very real results. For those with anxiety, fears and phobias… Hypnotherapy is often recommended. It has real value.
When done right, hypnotherapy can help to break habits and form new, healthier ones. Julie Widdowson embodies Hypnotherapy done right. She doesn’t use a script, ever, and every session is tailored to, and led by, the client. As well as help to stop smoking, or lose weight, hypnotherapy can help with almost an A-Z of issues:
Ask for help, on any forum or group, with any of these problems. Julie will be recommended repeatedly. She’s unashamedly spiritual and incredibly intuitive, but she’s friendly, down to earth, open and refreshingly normal. There’s no pretension, no smoke, or spells. That’s not how Julie works. There’s just a genuine, honest-to-goodness desire to help, help she does, as we’ve already mentioned. Julie is also really passionate about working with women to connect with their bodies emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
She simply loves to help, and to heal. Don’t just take our word for it – the reviews speak for themselves:
Julie has been totally AMAZING. Our daughter suffers with anxiety and refused every school injection. This had gone on for years, not only injections but dentists, doctors, hospitals, completely petrified of them all. We made an appointment with Julie to try hypnosis. We had a few visits and our daughter finally got through all her injections and we’re now completely up-to date. Julie put her at complete ease she was so friendly and approachable. We were amazed that we finally got through them all and we’re talking from completely uncontrollable cowering in a corner to getting on to the bed with ease and was brave enough to have them done.
I’ve tried hypnotherapy with Julie which was very powerful so I was intrigued when I had the chance to try Shamanic healing. I was a little concerned (Julie knows I want to be a cynic really) in case there was chanting or anything too new-agey, but she assured me I would have to do nothing but relax. I saw different colours as she worked on each area and, maybe it’s a coincidence, but having felt down, generally bleuurghhh and having flu since just after Christmas I now feel extremely happy and positive, with way more energy. Even without coffee!
Julie was recommended to me after having overwhelming feelings of being stuck in a rut, unable to think clearly and not being able to move forward in life, causing mental fatigue and stress. Since then, I have had 2 sessions of Hypnotherapy and I can’t believe the difference it has made to my mental state, my creativity and my general wellbeing. Julie has allowed me to let go of everything I didn’t need that was holding me back (from birth to now) or distracting from my life’s goals. She has helped me gain clarity on what is important, where my focus needs to be and how I can move forward feeling more “me” again. I felt conscious and in control throughout the whole session and was made to feel comfortable to say whatever felt right at the time. Thank you Julie, you have fixed me.
I feel compelled to write a review of my experience with Julie Widdowson. Julie has that rare mix of capability and approach that truly delivers an experience that has the power to be transformative for your well being and your positive future.
Whether you have experience of hypnotherapy or none I can wholeheartedly urge you to make an appointment with Julie. I have received far more than I could have hoped for or than I expected.
Such an amazing person I couldn’t recommend Julie more, the work she has done for me has been life changing she is so warm and welcoming makes you feel at ease the moment you walk in.
I saw Julie for 3 sessions to try and help my fear of flying before a long haul trip to the US. Julie was so kind and warm and instantly put me at ease. She taught me techniques to use at times of stress but also uncovered underlying issues that were fuelling my stress and anxiety. With amazing results! I spent 28 hours flying over two weeks and was calm and collected, even during turbulence and even fell asleep! I cannot thank Julie enough!
There will always be cynics, those who don’t believe, those who confuse Julie’s healing, clinical hypnotherapy with hypnotism. Hypnotism is just a form of entertainment. Hypnotherapy helps – and it heals.
A regular volunteer in the community, that desire to help isn’t just business. It’s Julie. Practical help, a raffle prize, collecting for charity. Recently Julie has been one of the wonderful Helping Hands Bramhall team, collecting for Chelwood Foodbank. She’s been part of Paint Cheadle Hulme Pink, the Big Bramhall Tea Party, and the Mike Godfrey Memorial Football Tournament.
A couple of years ago, Julie walked the Santiago de Compostela (500 miles over the Pyrenees) alone. This was something she had dreamt of for almost 8 years. This was an inspiring yet arduous experience and Julie met amazing people along the way, as well as suffering all manner of pain and panic. Although a personal journey, Julie raised money for 3 charities very close to her heart, including JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity. As you’d expect from Julie, she smashed her fundraising goal – by almost 500%.
Julie beautiful, restful, room has been built specially and is self-contained within her home, here in Cheadle Hulme. The room is warm, airy, and full of beautiful calming fragrance – you cannot help but be relaxed. Once relaxed and receptive, Julie’s entirely client-led hypnotherapy and intuitive coaching can begin. Julie works a lot with metaphor which she says is ‘the language of the subconscious mind’. This is a method that works well for children, too. Julie aims is to empower her clients; to guide them. Hypnotherapy should always be about the client, not the therapist.
The best way to learn about something is to try it. And the best recommendations come from those who’ve done so. Both myself and Wendy have been in Julie’s very capable hands.
I yearn to more organised and less chaotic (don’t laugh). Julie welcomed me into her room and her VERY comfy chair. Relaxation and a feeling of wellbeing came almost instantly. Ultimately, that’s how hypnotherapy works. Total relaxation allows the mind to be open and receptive. I’ll freely admit I can be rather cynical, but something happened. Something worked.
Wendy had real anxiety around travel and especially public transport, so saw Julie in advance of a big trip. Not only was she given techniques to cope and to calm herself, but somehow was also able to give up smoking AND stop eating too much chocolate.
Julie encourages and facilitates change through positive affirmations. ‘I must not’ or ‘I must stop’ have no place in Julie’s therapy room. Positivity is the way forward for self-care and wellbeing.
Julie’s early ambition was a nursing career, but, as is often the case with our childhood ideals, life happened. A career in beauty segued into holistic training and reiki. A ‘lightbulb moment’ led to hypnotherapy training and the rest, as they say, is history. It’s been almost ten years now and Julie’s love for her profession continues to grow. That passion and dedication also leads her to continue to learn, develop her skills, and add new treatments.
Julie inspires and empowers people to ‘make positive changes and realise their potential’. As well as Julie’s Clinical Hypnotherapy training, she’s also qualified in Creative hypnotherapy. This brings a spiritual aspect too, which works well with relaxation and wellbeing. There’s often a concern beyond or behind what the client says. That’s what Julie works to find, identify and fix. Julie CAN help – and will do everything she can to do so.
In an age when there is so much more awareness of mental wellbeing, anything that can help people to cope, to be resilient, has to be a good thing. With Julie Widdowson Hypnotherapy it’s a REALLY good thing.
