With over 7.7 million* people living on their own in the UK, homes to facilitate this lifestyle are in ever-growing demand.

To that end, a rise in park home living has also been seen due to the security, independence and financial benefits such homes bring.

“Park home living is proving to be a popular choice for people who live on their own either through choice or after finding themselves on their own after a long-term relationship,” said Marie Hanby Marketing Manager Serenity Parks. “Many of our single residents chose one of our park homes due to the community spirit, security and neighbourly atmosphere, meaning that whilst they may live on their own they always know that someone is close at hand should they be needed.”

One resident who is enjoying life at Chester’s Croft is Madelaine Darlaston, 67, who commented;

“This is an affordable way of living as running and maintenance costs are significantly lower when compared to my previous home,” said Madeleine. “Living here is a complete pleasure, I have a lovely home and it is so nice being able to step out of your home, have a friendly chat or a simple ‘Good Morning’ with your neighbours and know that should I ever need anything, someone who is happy to help is close by.”

Over a quarter of a million people currently choose park homes as their permanent residence and, whilst over 65% of those are aged over 60, Serenity Parks has seen a definite shift in younger people seeking the benefits earlier to facilitate a more relaxed, financially free lifestyle. With this in mind the lower age limit on its parks is 45 and this will be maintained in all future developments wherever possible.

“Now is the time to support people who live on their own and a park home can offer significant financial and emotional benefits to single residents,” said Marie. “We look forward to our acquisition of new parks so we will be able to help more people lead the lifestyle they wish in a way that suits them perfectly.”

There is one, two-bedroom home currently remaining for sale at Chester’s Croft which as has been reduced to £160,000 (reserve before 21/12/18 to secure this price).
