Much has happened for Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes, Cheadle Hulme’s pocket rocket personal trainer, in the past few years – especially the completion and opening of her state-of-the-art new studio. The shiny, new Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes studio forms part of the new home which Michelle and hubby Stu – of Brooktech Maintenance – self-built. Literally. We kid you not, it should star on tv’s Grand Designs. It’s truly incredible, and Michelle and Stu can be very proud of what they’ve achieved.
Rather like fitness and training, building their new home from scratch was a real labour of love for Michelle and Stu. Their personalities are reflected in every single aspect – and in the light, welcoming and open living space. Furnished with salvage finds and Stu’s custom, hand-crafted industrial furniture, this tardis-like home is worthy of a spread in Cheshire Life or House Beautiful. It wasn’t plain sailing of course – far from it. Blood sweat and tears have gone into the build, which suffered setbacks including a robbery. Do the couple have any regrets? No way. Michelle tells me they love ‘this amazing space. We love entertaining, and welcoming people’. Plus, running Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes from home – and not sharing a studio – has been a revelation.
As well as a now-accomplished home builder, interior designer and labourer extraordinaire, Michelle is much MORE than a personal trainer. Employing a holistic approach, Michelle WILL get you fitter and healthier if you put the work in. She’s not going to lie to you – it may not be easy. But it WILL be worth it. She’ll work you hard – but she’ll look after you, too.
Here’s a recap from our last chat with Michelle:
“Michelle takes a holistic approach to fitness – it’s as much about relieving stress, developing yourself and self-care as building muscle or toning-up. Nutrition coaching also plays a part, and Michelle also works alongside Julie Widdowson Hypnotherapy. As Michelle says, ‘exercise alone is not enough. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals, be it through health and fitness, or beauty and wellbeing. At Desired Physique we believe in working with the individual and tailoring a package that suits your needs and requirements as we are all different. We have a friendly, fun yet effective approach to helping you realise your potential, but who ever said exercise cannot be fun has never worked out with us!’
Many clients will follow Michelle wherever she works, and she’s looking forward to meeting new people, too. Her clients and classes have a real community feel – including their own WhatsApp group. Michelle laughs and says the classes are half exercise, half therapy as everyone gets on so well. There are weight-based classes, core stability, relaxation and meditation – Michelle gives clients what they want. Classes are kept small. Bespoke packages can be designed to suit your needs. Michelle will help anyone benefit from exercise and a healthy lifestyle.”
Michelle specialises in women’s health and hormones. She aims to help women make all the difference to their lives. Hormonal issues badly affect many women – from monthly mood swings and painful bloating, right up to fertility problems and the misery of menopause. As a qualified nutritionist and with first-hand experience Michelle can help women listen to their bodies and learn from cycles and patterns. This can make a difference right from the first month – often, just being listened to and understood can be like therapy in itself. The right nutrition can also help reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure, detect food intolerances and even reverse Type 2 Diabetes.
And it’s not all about the ladies – Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes works with plenty of male clients. Her no-nonsense approach appeals to the gents. Since opening the Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes studio here in Cheadle Hulme, Michelle just keeps attracting new clients and is already looking at adding more classes. Those who take her classes have become their own support team, too. Let’s face it, everything’s better and easier with friends.
It’s no secret that Michelle loves Cheadle Hulme – and Stu is an old Cheadle Hulme boy. They’re really loving being a part of the community and are passionate about working with other local businesses – many of whom joined them for the studio’s official opening. Watch this space for Michelle’s next event. We’re already chilling the Prosecco and looking forward to it.
