YSBD Workshops Ltd (You Should Be Dancing) is an amazing young company delivering totally unique, fun and energetic workshops in dance, singing and drama for children. YSBD Theatre Academy is the official Theatre Academy created by YSBD Workshops Ltd.

YSBD Theatre Academy Workshops are led exclusively by genuine, professional performers, currently working throughout the industry, in theatre, TV or film. From ages 2-18, YSBD offer a truly fabulous way to learn from the best in the business – and always, always, ALWAYS while having fun!

YSBD

YSBD Workshops Ltd was founded in 2014 by sisters and professionals Amy and Hannah Goodwin. Their Theatre Academy workshops run every weekend in Cheadle Hulme and really “bring the West End Up North”! Being professional performers, who trained in London at Laine Theatre Arts, Amy and Hannah always wanted to bring the West End Experience back home with them, and share the magic with their local community.

YSBD

Since graduating, both Amy and Hannah have been in musicals (including Wicked), UK & European Tours (Some Enchanted Evening, Musical Starnights, An Evening of Dirty Dancing), pantomimes, cabarets and concerts. They’ve worked with artists such as Limahl, Steve Hewlett (Britain’s Got Talent Finalist), William A. Forsythe (Australia’s top choreographer), the West End’s Gary Wilmot and participated in workshops run by Wayne Sleep, Graeme Henderson and Chris Baldock. Amy and Hannah have also performed for Musical Theatre icon Kerry Ellis, Dragon Den’s Theo Paphitis and Ray Davies of The Kinks.

YSBD

As YSBD Workshops Ltd grew, Amy and Hannah developed the YSBD Theatre Academy, also run by professional performers. ALL the tutors encourage children’s creativity while nurturing self-esteem and confidence. Crucially, all whilst having lots and lots of fun. Students really do get to learn from the best – recent workshops have been led by stars from Les Miserables and Hairspray, while YSBD pupils have appeared at the Opera House in Abba Mania! Watch this space as YSBD stars have been asked to sing with Russell Watson! YSBD really does give a truly authentic West End experience.

YSBD

YSBD Theatre Workshops offer expert tuition in dancing, drama, tv and film – and West End Masterclasses. Each year, they perform a West End musical – this year’s spectacular is FAME Jr. To add to the excitement, a star from the show always visits – Fame’s Jodie Steele is already looking forward to her upcoming stint. The experienced team and genuine performer appearances really give students the chance to develop their very own Star Quality.

YSBD Theatre Workshops know every child is unique. Whether they want to pursue performing arts or just have fun, classes are for everyone. Everyone can reach their full potential in a happy, creative and positive environment. The most important thing is always having fun. Lots of it!

YSBD

Students interested in becoming professional performers will be nurtured and polished, and given the knowledge needed to succeed in the business. With teachers who have worked in the industry, YSBD Theatre Academy can offer a real advantage. Indeed, the YSBD agency can help students get auditions, AND even do everything they can to ensure they impress the panel.

YSBD

Amy and Hannah just LOVE what they do – and it really matters to them. Hannah says it’s hard to pinpoint the best things about running YSBD, but seeing the students respond to the classes and have fun is definitely up there. They love to see their pupils make friends and really develop. One young girl, Hannah tells me, was scared to sing but is now singing solo and wanting to do more and more. The students’ achievements are Amy and Hannah’s achievements – they really invest themselves in their YSBD family. One real ‘best bit’ was when one child was asked ‘who’s your hero?’ and replied ‘Hannah’! Career goal, right there!

Get YOUR children involved in something really special, right here in Cheadle Hulme.
